This role is hands on and will require some heavy lifting. Ready to get your hands dirty? We are seeking a customer focused Team Member with a green thumb to join our Mitre 10 MEGA Albany Garden Department on a permanent, part-time basis. Your gardening passion may come from time in your own back-yard or you may have undertaken horticultural training either way you will enjoy helping our customers select the right plants, along with all the dry goods and hardware, whether its fertilizers and pest control or gardening gloves and a wheel barrow.

Ideally you will be experienced with the sale of both green and dry garden goods, although applicants with a proven retail background and who are eager to learn will be considered. If you have the ability to engage with our customers and work through their DIY or large scale projects with them efficiently, then we would love to hear from you We are currently recruiting in the following areas : Indoor and Outdoor Garden Centre (Garden Dcor, Garden Equipment (handtools, sheds) Garden Lighting, Garden Supplies (edging and screens, plant support, seed trays), Landscaping Supplies (aggregates, retaining, paving) and Plants). The following fixed (no changes/as-is) shift patterns are currently available: Sunday AND Monday (10:30-17:00) - 20 hours Saturday AND Sunday (10:00-17:00) AND Monday (08:30-19:00) - 23 hours For this position we are looking for someone who has: Any appropriately related experience working within green goods, garden care, garden hardware or garden power tools.

A good level of physical fitness to enable some heavy lifting is essential Landscape or Garden experience is beneficial Dedicated to providing an excellent customer service experience to our customer Willingness to share your passion for gardening with others Good time management skills Enthusiasm, team spirit and a willingness to learn and further develop There is sometimes a need to move soils and other heavy products and so forklifting experience would be advantageous.
